Fisher Turns Four!

***So, Fisher, I've failed you again. You had a birthday in March and here it is June and I've yet to get your birthday blog up.  It stinks being the little brother, doesn't it? I have vowed to get your blog going before Trace has his next birthday, so I don't get two birthdays behind.  Here goes:

For your 4th birthday, we decided to do things a bit differently this year.  Instead of a party to celebrate your birth, we're taking you to Disney World! You've heard for years about Trace getting to go before you were born and we thought that you guys would be the perfect age for us to all go again. We made the big announcement at Christmas, and after keeping this trip a secret for six months, your response was a bit underwhelming:

We could have easily gotten away with buying you a big box filled with balloons, and you would have been just as happy.  That's one thing I love about you, Bug, is your level of contentment with most any situation.  However, it didn't take long for the excitement to set in.  Days later you began telling everyone you came into contact with for the next three months that you were going to Disney World!!!

After a long awaited three months had passed, the day had finally come!  Y'all handled the car ride like champs and by the time we were driving into Disney you were as perky as could be!

Your brother, not so much.  Upon arrival, they gave us Happy Birthday pins for you to wear and everyone stopped to tell you "Happy Birthday!" You love all the attention, for sure!

We spent the first day in Animal Kingdom where you rode your first ride.

You weren't quite ready for meeting characters just yet, but that would come soon enough.  We had dinner at Rain Forest Cafe where they sang "Happy Birthday" to you the first of many times.

That night when we got to the room, we had a special surprise waiting from Rhi Rhi for your birthday!

The next morning was March 12th!  We had to wake you up early for a birthday breakfast at Chef Mickey.  You were a little sleepy at first, but you quickly perked up as soon as we said you could open a few presents before we left the room!

At Chef Mickey, we began meeting the first of many characters for the day! You met Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Pluto there; but you kept asking about Daisy, too. The waitress told us where to find her in the park, so we assured you we'd look for her.

After meeting all the characters at breakfast, the made a special announcement that it was your birthday and the whole restaurant sang "Happy Birthday" to you and twirled their dinner napkins in the air.

After Chef Mickey we headed over to Epcot on a rainy Wednesday morning, but it didn't take long for the weather to clear up.  We did several indoor activities/shows before riding a few rides.

We also set out to meet Chip & Dale while Dad & Trace went on a Soarin'. You were the only one there and you loved seeing them!

After a few more rides/shows, we began touring the worlds in Epcot.  You crashed in the stroller as we were ordering lunch, so you & I headed back to the hotel for the afternoon.

When we arrived at the room, you had a special surprise waiting from Maw Maw, as well as a phone call from Mickey & Minnie Mouse!

Once we were all rested and cleaned up for dinner, we headed out to see the Hoop Dee Doo Revue! You loved the music and you even got to be a part of the show!

They asked who was celebrating a birthday and you raised your hand.  Johnny Ringo came over to the table and began talking to you. Everyone sang "Happy Birthday" yet again and you had a special cake with your name on it and a #4 candle waiting for you!
At the end of the show they let you play the washboard with a spoon.  I think it's safe to say you enjoyed your birthday day!

The week continued on with lots of birthday wishes and singing, riding rides (you rode your first roller coaster - The Barnstormer), meeting characters (we finally found Daisy at Magic Kingdom and were the first in line at Hollywood Studios to meet Jake), and lots of treats!

Your 4th birthday was certainly magical and one I hope you never forget.  We even had a small party with your school friends when we returned to Baton Rouge.  You requested a Jake and the Neverland Pirates theme.

Fisher Bug, we love you so so much!  You are the happiest, most easy-going kid ever.  You are confident, loud, and usually the life of the party.  You can easily entertain yourself for hours; but in a crowd, you never hesitate to join in the fun.  You love to snuggle and you give lots of love in return. You're also getting to be pretty sneaky and mischievous these days.  We find candy wrappers in the corner of your bedroom and you can tell a fib with a smile on your face.  You're so stinkin' cute that you make it hard for us to follow through with discipline.  You just flash your smile with your dimples, give a seemingly sincere apology and off you go!  Some of your favorites include pizza, mac & cheese, the colors yellow & red, Team Umizoomi, Frozen, rock collecting, music & dancing.  You love to do the "DJ Shovel" (Shuffle) and sing "Let It Go" at the top of your lungs! You've got a pretty great vocabulary and an awesome memory, as well.  You can quote movies/tv shows verbatim.  You played your first sport, T-ball, this season and you're a great sport and teammate.  You start PreK in the fall and we know you're gonna do awesome!  We love seeing you grow up, but sometimes wish our baby boy would slow it down a bit.  We love watching you learn from your big brother how to do things, but also learning to become your own little person.  You're a true joy to our lives and are so thankful the Lord blessed us with you!  Looking forward to another amazing year, Little Bug!

We love you!
-Mom, Dad & Trace
