Trace's brother

So, most of you who read this blog already know that Trace has a brother named Joseph, who we lost in 2006. Recently, the Ring (our church) did a highlight story on our family; and we were able to share the story of Trace and Joseph with everyone. Click here to read.

This blog is intended to keep everyone posted on the latest pics, news and stories about Trace; but it also serves as a way for us to document his life and know that one day he’ll be able to read it and learn things about himself. This story is one that I look forward to sharing with Trace as he grows up; so he’ll know all about the journey God led us on leading up to his birth. It’s something pretty amazing to us.

Icky Sicky...

Trace has not been feeling great these past couple of weeks. He started with an ear infection a couple of weeks ago and he's been on 3 different antibiotics and 3 rounds of shots to try to clear it up. He goes back to the doctor on Tuesday to see if the shots helped. If not, he'll have to get tubes in his ears. So, we'll see...but the worst part about him being sick has been his diaper rash. The antibiotics have him going through lots of diapers and outfits; and needless to say, his bottom is raw. We try to let him 'air out' when we can, but just when it starts to clear up a little; more diapers! It's a vicious cycle and we can't wait for him to be completely healed of it all. But even though he's feeling bad; he's still as happy as can be! We're so blessed.

Look who's crawling; first trip to the zoo

Yesterday afternoon, Ashley was playing with Trace on the floor, and unexpectedly, he crawled to her. He did it a couple of times (I was outside trying to keep Phoebe out of the street) so she yelled for me to come see. I grab the video camera and captured Trace moving across the floor.

He crawled a few feet to grab the remote control (one of his favorite things). He has the hand movement down, but is tentative with the legs. He then realized that since we have hardwood floors, he can slid on them easily. He laid on his belly and pulled himself along with his hands. A proud moment for us to see him growing up and accomplish this milestone.

Last weekend, we took Trace to the Baton Rouge zoo for my birthday. He had a good time but seemed to enjoy watching the other people at the zoo more than the animals. He got tired about halfway through the zoo, so we'll need to bring him back again soon to see the stuff he missed.

Here's a few pictures of our day.
